| 1997 Silver Proof Piedfort Two-Pound Coin in Sterling (.925) silver. HM QEII portrait by Raphael Maklouf. Reverse: Four concentric circles representing the Iron Age, 18th century industrial development, the silicon chip, and the internet. Edge: "Standing on the Shoulders of Giants". To reproduce the bi-colour character of the circulation coin the final circle representing computer technology has been plated with fine gold. Weight: 24.00 grammes. Diameter: 28.40 mm. Content: Inner disc sterling .925 silver, Outer circle sterling .925 silver, plated with fine gold. The coin is encased in a perspex container for protection and set in a red Royal Mint presentation case with certificate of authenticity.
